Subhanie Tennekoon is an experienced finance professional, currently leading the Portfolio Management team at Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC). She has over 16 years’ experience within Banking and Financial Markets in transforming Front and Back Office operations within Australia and overseas. At QTC she currently manages a number of significant transformation
programs for the state of Queensland. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from QUT.
Subhanie has been involved in a complete re-structure of QTC, including an eight month transformation period, replacing QTC’s core Treasury Management systems, technology infrastructure and the restructure of core business capabilities. During this period she lead and steered all aspects of Treasury Operations Transformation while managing the day to day to operations of
the Back Office. More recently, she was appointed to the newly created Change Governance role within QTC which enabled her to find her true passion in business transformation.
Even though there’s lot of competing day to day priorities, her number one priority has always been to be available to her team members. Her leadership philosophy is to make employee’s feel valued and cared for and believes that it’s crucial to the success of any organisation. She achieves this through high quality performance conversations and one on one mentoring. Subhanie is a career mentor at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and has mentored a number of university graduates in the Finance industry.
